From the prairies to the famous Rocky Mountains beautiful rivers,desert areas and great cities to old mining towns and the best ski resorts, Colorado is a breathtakingly exciting place within landscapes which are opposites to each other in terrain and weather. It has the highest altitude than anywhere else in America with astounding wildlife and landscapes. It has strong cultural history from the Aborigines before the 15th century, the Indians and then the Europeans took it over and made it their country. The architectural history is shown by its forts, narrow gauge railroads, mining museums, ancient dwelling carved out of rock and art attributed to American Indians.
It has 300 days of sunshine annually, 54 mountains, 4 National Parks with fantastic flora and fauna, glaciers, snowtrails, 26 ski areas and the romance of the American West. Young people flock to Colorado to work in the service industries and play hard in the fresh powder of ski resorts such as Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Keystone and Snowmass. It is said that once you have experienced the Rocky Mountain high you don’t want to leave!
