Breckenridge. Overview.
Breckenridge is as we know the most popular ski resort for British Tourists. This is because the high altitude and reliable snow conditions can be relied upon for fantastic skiing conditions all season. It was a Victorian Gold Mining Town and is 104 miles West of Denver. It has a reputation for being an easy going party place too, and is a great base for exploring the local region. The area has four of Colorado’s best ski resorts less than an hour’s drive away such as Keystone which has night skiing. Some people think it is safe to hitch hike around Breckenridge in the ski season but it is not recommended even though Breckenridge is such a safe place. There are over a hundred bars and restaurants and has a friendly atmosphere. Accommodation is good and varied and there is a good après ski scene. There is a free shuttle to Vail and a shuttle to Keystone called the Summit Stages. There are B&Bs and hotels to suit all budgets. Places to eat and drink are fun along Main Street and Ridge Road to name but a few streets.
