Wyoming. Overview
Although famous for its exciting rodeo and pageants Wyoming also has Jackson Hole, the fantastic jet set ski resort. The Bighorn Mountains have unmarked trails which are great for snowshoeing and snowmobiling during the winter season. Wyoming is another wonderful US region where you can find what you want. Whether it is skiing one day in a National Park or preferring a family walk around it another day.
Cheyenne, a cowboy name to be conjured with is the capital of Wyoming. Lander is a pretty resort not far from Wind River Indian Reservation with rockclimbing and mountaineering. Cody is a place that romanticises on its Wild West image and the legendary Buffalo Bill. From Cody the road to geyserland is jawdropping. President Roosevelt said that it was ‘the most scenic 50 miles in the world.
The accommodation in Wyoming is often called Lodges such as Grand Teton’s ecofriendly private lodges with sustainable energy, water conservation and recycling. Othwerwise Xanterra runs lodges and hotels some of which are open in winter such as Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Old Faithful Snow Lodge. The food is usually straightforward American unless it’s in Jackson which has haute cuisine and great restaurants. Some other restaurants have a Western or Bordello theme throughout the county!
